Assalamu Alaikum,
We are pleased to share that the Haji Abdul Rahim Welfare Trust (HARWT) has successfully provided Food Aid to those in need within the Comilla Region and has now extended this vital support to the Moulvi Bazaar area. This initiative has brought much-needed relief to families who have faced severe hardships due to recent circumstances.
In Islam, helping those who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to disasters, such as floods, is an act of immense virtue and reward. Here are some key reminders of the blessings and rewards associated with such charitable deeds:
1. Reward in the Hereafter: Allah promises great rewards in the Hereafter for those who help others. The Qur’an mentions that those who give in charity and help others will have their reward multiplied many times over. Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261): “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts seven ears; in every ear there are a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills.”
2. Forgiveness of Sins: Acts of charity and helping others can lead to the forgiveness of sins. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Hadith, Tirmidhi)
3. Protection from Calamities: Helping those in need can also serve as a means of protection from calamities. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Hadith, Tirmidhi)
4. Blessings in Wealth and Provision: Islam teaches that spending in charity, especially in helping those in dire situations, brings blessings and increases one’s wealth. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Hadith, Muslim)
5. Entering Paradise: The act of helping those in need, especially in situations as dire as losing homes and livelihoods due to floods, is one of the deeds that can lead to Paradise. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentioned that those who take care of the needs of others will be among the people of Paradise.
6. Divine Mercy and Compassion: Helping others attracts the mercy and compassion of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother.” (Hadith, Muslim)
7. High Status in the Sight of Allah: Those who assist others in times of need are held in high esteem in Islam. The Qur’an and Hadith consistently encourage believers to support one another, particularly during difficult times.
